Mission Statement

To Learn, Live and Share Christ is Our Savior Lutheran Church's Mission Statement.  It is our guiding principle around which everything we do is centered.  We believe that there are important and necessary steps for each Christian as well as the body of Christ to follow.  These steps are deliberate and Biblically based.

1.  In Mt. 11:29 Jesus encourages us to "Take my (Jesus') yoke (His guiding principles; His death and resurrection) upon you, and learn from Me...".  We need to understand what Jesus is all about -- who He is, what He did and how that effects us all for eternity.

2.  In Philippians 1:21 Paul writes: "For me to live is Christ."  And in Matthew 20:28, Jesus said:  "The Son of Man (Jesus) came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a payment for many."  You and I are to live to serve Christ by serving others.  That is our true life's work!

3.  In Matthew 28:19 Jesus said: "Go therefore and make disciples of all people..."  As Christians, we are the mouths, hands and feet of Jesus.  We are to share Him and His marvelous, life-giving story with everyone so that they, too, might have that gift of life forever with Jesus, by trusting in Him alone.

Core Values

Core Values of Our Savior Lutheran Church and School (OSL) Lansing, Michigan

We value the promised Eternal Inheritance for God's children and heirs, building a lasting legacy through families. This inheritance is known and celebrated through reaching families in the community with the Gospel and through instilling the faith in our children and families at home and in the congregational fellowship.

We especially value our partnership with parents in the Christian Education of their children through our Christian day school, knowing that our families will be equipped to know and share the faith for and with all that leads into the "inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade - kept in heaven."
